Stephanie Wong is a multidisciplinary artist working in printmaking, photography, film and installation. Key components to her work are colour, texture and composition, which she uses to explore the interplay between process and material. Imagery is often abstracted from everyday observations merging photography and print to create meditative pieces.
Collaboratively, she creates art with her two sisters as part of the JIUN Collective. Together, they use art as a platform for social commentary, interrogating their shared identity as sisters and individuals of mixed heritage. In 2022, they produced “Conversations With Our Grandmothers” a film and photographic series featuring interviews with their grandmothers. This project was selected by The Collective Makers for a year-long exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London, concluding in February 2024.
Stephanie completed a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Bristol in 2012 and graduated from the MA Art and Science course at Central Saint Martins in 2016. She is currently part of the first cohort on the Conditions Studios Online Programme 2024-2025. Stephanie is also a Director at Art Hub Studios, a non-profit community arts organisation based in South East London.
