Layers of Surface was created during the Every Me Art Residency. I used materials made locally, home made bleach and scraps of patterned fabric. I am interested in the familiar materials that are common to daily life, applying them in unfamiliar ways.
Every Me is an art residency curated by Mustafa Boğa in Adana, Turkey during September every year for two weeks. Most of the artists have never been to Adana before and they come from different backgrounds.
The residency is a collaboration between local life and visiting artists and examines how experiences that come from culture, education, lifestyles, and religion can be explored and interpreted through visual and expressive language.
